On Saturday, August 14th, Crossroads had the chance to visit the Greensboro History Museum. It was a great opportunity and experience for the students in the program to learn about the history of their hometown. Students had an opportunity to view exhibits based on the 19th Century, the Civil Rights Era, World War 2, and the “Voices of a city” that incorporate the stories of individual residents throughout history. Students also had an opportunity to learn about the creation and transformation of Greensboro.
The collections and presentation of the artifacts in the Greensboro History Museum tell a compelling story of Greensboro. The exhibits are artfully arranged and well narrated. Many students in the program left the workshop knowing a lot more about their hometown.
